Who we work with
Who we work with
We work closely with our local councils, through the Gateshead Health and Wellbeing Board and Newcastle City Council Wellbeing for Life Board.
We regularly involve the community and voluntary sector who provide an important voice for patients, and invaluable insight into the health challenges faced by local people.
Health and Wellbeing Board
We are a key partner in the city’s Wellbeing for Life board and Gateshead Health and Wellbeing Board which has been established to transform the way health and social care services are commissioned and provided in order to improve the health and wellbeing of the local people.
Consideration of the views and experience of the public and patients is a fundamental part of all decisions.
The board brings key partners from across health and care services together.

HealthWatch
Healthwatch is a national organisation that operates on a regional level. It was set up to give patients a more powerful voice in the planning and delivery of health and social care services. Run by local people and groups and independently supported – the role of Healthwatch is to find out what people want, monitor local services and use their powers to hold health and social care providers to account. The Newcastle Gateshead Alliance is building excellent relationships with the local Healthwatch teams.
You can find more about Healthwatch in your local area by following these links:

Public Health
We work in partnership with local public health teams. They are responsible for the planning and integration of health and social care services to reduce the inequalities in health across the region.
By looking at cost-effective delivery and the development of services, the public health team aim to improve health and wellbeing and increase life expectancy for all.
Local authority
We are constantly building upon the strong public sector partnerships that already exist across Newcastle and Gateshead. Our CCG has been backed by key partners such as Gateshead Council and Newcastle City Council, reflecting our shared geography and the many common socio-economic challenges we face across communities.
